I get so excited when Sigur Ros releases any new material.  To say that they are amazing is an extreme understatement.  I am equally as pumped about lead singer Jonsi's solo project.  If you haven't listened to them before, please do yourself a favor and check out their music.  Today I just ran across a new video for a Jonsi song "Gathering Stories,"released for the new movie We Bought A Zoo.  Enjoy.

Christian movies?

To say that I'm disappointed with "Christian" movies would be an understatement.  Here is the problem, I feel that in order to get a point across there has to be more than just a great message.  There has to be a quality movie worth watching that actually has something to say visually, as well as being thought provoking with an amazing message of God's love.  To this day I'm not sure I've seen that, but am very excited about what I'm seeing from Blaine Hogan the creative director for Willow Creek in Chicago.  Here's a quick preview of a short film he put together for this Christmas.  Check it out.

Really good friends of mine SisterBrother just released a Christmas song available for a free download.  It's amazing, but I wouldn't expect anything less from them.  Enjoy.

The Years Best

Ok, so I would say that I'm border line obsessed with music.  I spend hours and hours every week just listening to music.  It's what inspires me to do my job, and it also is my job.  I get so pumped up when my favorite bands are releasing new material, or a friend of mine shows me a new band that's up and coming.  This has been an amazing year for music, and I thought that as the year comes to an end I might share with you some of my favorite albums of 2011.  These are in no particular order, all of them are equally amazing in their own way.

Coldplay (Mylo Xyloto), Gungor (Ghost Upon The Earth), Death Cab For Cutie (Codes And Keys), Bon Iver (Bon Iver), Adele (21), Kye Kye (Young Love), Matt Redman (10,000 Reasons)

A Bunch Of Passion

Recently my family and I have become kind of obsessed with the PS22 Choir.  We all love to gather around the computer and watch these kids sing their hearts out.  I'm sure they are old news to most of you, but for me it's fresh.  I think what I dig most about these videos is the passion of the choir director.  I keep thinking how there are thousands and thousands of public school music teachers all over the world doing very similar things in music class, but this guy had an amazing vision to do something different.  To take something very ordinary and make it extraordinary.  A couple million youtube hits later and he has inspired tons of people including me.

What could we do/change in our jobs and everyday life to inspire the world and become extraordinary?

Christmas is here?

Last week Hillsong released a Christmas album and I am blown away by it.  Even though I feel that it is way too early to start singing Christmas songs, it still is the freshest take on a Christmas worship album I have ever come across.  Thank you Hillsong once again.

You should also do yourself a favor and check out this video for their single Born Is The King.

Inspiration is everywhere.  You just have to know where to look.  Right?  I am constantly on this journey to be inspired.  If it's to write the best song or pick a perfect worship package, or to be the best dad and husband I can be.  I need inspiration for all these things.
Lately I've realized that I need some new sources of inspiration.  For so long I have relied on my voice to sing.  It's my job it's what I do, but I've decided it's time to move past what I'm used to doing, in hopes that it may lead to something even better.  A new voice and new inspiration.  Which brings me here, with you.  My hope is that we can share together and inspire each other to be better and do greater things than ever before.  I look forward to it.  Here are a few things that have inspired me lately.  Enjoy.
